Charity Clothing Pickup organizes the collection of clothing and small household items across the United States. They then forward the donated items to local and national charities and non-profit organizations, such as the Paralyzed Veterans of America Florida Gulf Coast Chapter and the American Red Cross.
Each donor is presented with a check that can be presented to their charities of choice. The amount on each check depends on the volume of clothes donated.
In some states, such as in Texas (which has thousands of clothing donation boxes), they offer a Virtual Clothing Drive or referral program, where the referring individuals/organizations may also receive a check for every donation.
As opposed to for-profit operations, which sells donated clothes, Charity Clothing Pickup only collects clothes for transmitting to beneficiary charities. Companies are welcome to sponsor donation boxes and set up their own donation drives.
This organization accepts used clothes, as well as towels, bedding and small household items. They also accept threadbare fabrics, as these can be recycled.
They also setup clothing drop boxes and sheds at different retail facilities. Beneficiary charities are clearly marked in front of each box/shed. All maintenance, collection and insurance activities for the boxes/sheds are fully the responsibility of Charity Clothing Pickup.
