About ClotheDonations.com

Helping donors find trusted clothing donation centers since 2020

Our Story

ClotheDonations.com launched in 2020 with a straightforward goal: make it easy to find a legitimate place to donate clothes. At the time, searching for "clothing donation near me" returned a mess of outdated listings, dead links, and organizations that had closed years ago. We wanted to fix that.

Six years later, we maintain a database of over 10,350 verified donation centers across all 50 states, representing 29 established charitable organizations. Every location in our directory is tied to a real nonprofit with a physical address and an active donation program.

We are not a charity ourselves. We are a free resource that connects people who have clothes to give with organizations that put those donations to work, whether that means stocking thrift store shelves, providing professional attire for job seekers, or keeping usable textiles out of landfills.

How We Verify Locations

Every donation center in our directory goes through a verification process before it appears on the site. We cross-reference location data directly from each organization's official records, including addresses, phone numbers, and accepted donation types.

We only list locations tied to established, registered nonprofits
Each location has a verified physical address and contact information
We recommend calling ahead for current hours, as schedules change seasonally
Closed or relocated locations are removed as we identify them

Editorial Standards

Our articles and guides are written and reviewed by people with direct experience in the nonprofit and charitable giving space. We follow a few simple rules:

  • -We cite specific laws, programs, and organizations by name. No vague claims.
  • -We update articles when tax rules, regulations, or organization policies change.
  • -We don't accept payment from any charity to feature or rank their locations.
  • -When we don't know something (like a location's current hours), we say so rather than guessing.
