Women Giving Back (WGB) is a non-profit organization that first took shape in 2007, when women professionals from the homebuilding industry recognized the need for free quality clothes for homeless women and children. Their advocacy has since grown into providing personal services aimed at helping adult women from vulnerable sectors secure employment and achieve a more positive self-image.
WGB fosters a comfortable boutique-like atmosphere, which bolsters clients’ self-confidence. It partners with other organizations and entities, including care providers and shelters, which refer eligible clients to WGB. Then, volunteers help referred clients “shop” for clothing at the organization’s boutique, free of charge. Childcare and breakfast are provided onsite.
We have relocated our food/diapers/wipes donation bin to the front because of the winds and storms. Please consider…

The organization has several self-esteem improvement programs for children and young women.
WGB welcomes financial donations, as well as donations of clothing of all sizes for women and children. Donated clothing must be in excellent condition, freshly laundered, odor-free, ready to wear, and no older than 5 years.
Seasonal donations of clothing, shoes, and jewelry are preferred. The organization also accepts donations of gently used bras, as well as unused, sealed underwear, makeup and toiletries.
WGB does not operate donation bins but does manage several drop-off centers in the counties of Loudon, Prince William, and Fairfax in Virginia. It also accepts donations at all DARO Properties located in Washington, DC.
Donors must note that WGB centers only accept donated items on “Sort and Store” days. These dates can be found on the organization’s volunteer, event and donation calendar.
Women Giving Back has most of its location in Virginia. If you’re unable to find one near you, there are plenty more organizations with donation boxes scattered around the state for you to choose from.
