GreenDrop is a charitable organization that generates and collects donated items for transmittal to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Philadelphia, the National Federation of the Blind, the Military Order of the Purple Heart and the American Red Cross.
A large number of their clothing donations bins are located in New York, but they also have many other drop boxes scattered around in other states.
As of early 2020, the organization has around 30 mobile trailers and donation centers in the Mid-Atlantic region that accept an average of a hundred tons of items weekly.
The organization sorts donated items, then sells the highest quality items to 2nd Ave. Value Stores. Heavily damaged or worn items are directly recycled, as in the case of fabrics, which may be used in the manufacture of new goods. Some donations are sold to overseas markets.
GreenDrop offers a “Home Clean-Out” service, where a concierge who is affiliated with the organization goes to donors’ homes, then assists them in selecting items for donation.
This organization welcomes donations of clothing, shoes, household items, kitchenware, games and toys, small appliances, electronics, sporting goods, and media (books, CDs, and videos). Small pieces of furniture weighing less than 50 pounds are also accepted.
GreenDrop does not have donation bins or boxes. However, they have free-standing, manned drop-off sites that accept donations. Drop-off site attendants can assist in unloading donated items from the donors’ vehicles.
Our partner charity, the American Red Cross is in desperate need of blood donations at this critical time due to many blood drives being cancelled. Please consider donating.

They also have trucks and container vans serving as mobile drop-off stations. Donors may find the mobile stations closest to them by using the location finder on the organization’s official website.
GreenDrop’s home pickup service can be scheduled by phone or through their website. Upon pickup, the GreenDrop driver issues a tax receipt from the donor’s charity of choice.
GreenDrop has drop-off centers and mobile stations in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and New York.
